At the first night of the 2023 Maaco Convention, themed “The Future of Better”, Maaco celebrated the successes of the year with Maaco franchise partners, corporate team members, valued vendors, industry leaders and special guests, and honored those franchise partners who excelled in key performance categories.
As part of the event, Maaco announced the Maaco Regional Cup awards, which recognize operators for top sales, production and overall performance within their given region. Regional Cup recipients are champions of the Maaco brand and strategic partners, and help lead their markets and regions to higher achieving levels. This year’s recipients are:
Regional Cup Central: Nick Patel, Addison, Ill.
This owner is platinum certified and, through his determined efforts, has achieved upwards of $4 million in sales this calendar year alone. His expertise also extends to raising car count, achieving a growth of 45.3% for a total car count of over 1,600. His attention to detail, and specifically fleet business, has earned him previous accolades such as the Maaco Cup back in 2018.
Regional Cup Southeast: Justin DePasquale, Ft. Myers, Fla.
In recognition of this franchisee’s exceptional commitment to the Maaco operating systems and their unwavering determination in the face of adversity, Maaco is proud to present this franchisee and their center with this well-deserved award. This shop has endured and overcome some tough challenges, including weathering the devastating impacts of Hurricane Ian last year. This franchisee, his manager and their team are dedicated to supporting each other and their community, both in hard times and good, which continues to be the foundation of their success. From seeing an impressive 25% increase in total sales and many other increases in their KPIs, this owner and the team are true pillars of the brand.
Regional Cup West: Robert and Keita Reid, Mansfield, Texas
The Western Regional Cup was presented to a pair of owners from the west region, Robert and Keita Reid. Since first joining the network over seven years ago, these owners have been a consistent force within their region. Their focus on operational excellence shows that they are a true leader within the industry. One of these owners has also played a pivotal role in piloting CCC ONE to support the sustained growth of the network and ultimately streamline operations. This duo also has a deep passion for helping fellow franchisee brothers and sisters, and shows through as a valued member of the advisory council. Their efforts to remain active both in their business and on their business do not go unnoticed, resulting in consistent performance across all areas such as: number of units produced each week; total sales dollars produced — over $3 million, a 25.1% increase from the previous year; total number of trade units produced; consistency in driving positive paint dollars week after week.
Regional Cup Northeast: Inge Family, Chesapeake, Va.
The Northeast Regional Cup award goes to an industrious multigenerational family of owners from the Northeast region, the Inge family. This shop is extremely team-oriented and even honors their team members with a dedicated team recognition area. With a split of 60% retail and 40% fleet/local trade, this location produces 41% paint dollars. This family of owners even cracked the $3 million mark for the first time this year.
Regional Cup Canada: Peter Flannigan
The Regional Cup Canada award goes to an owner with a longstanding reputation for giving back to the community, Peter Flannigan. From going the extra mile on the paint job of a classic car, pitching in with a community effort to give back to someone in need, being recognized by the community as a top repair provider or even making generous donations to local charities, this owner goes above and beyond for his close-knit community. Since joining the network in 2016, when they won Rookie of Year, this franchisee has been regarded by his peers as a supportive colleague proven by his previous tenure as a member of the advisory council. In addition to delivering excellence to the community, he also delivers excellence in his KPIs, growing his sales 17.5% since last year and crossing the $2 million mark.
“Congratulations to these incredible entrepreneurs and families that remain constantly focused on building the Maaco brand and their business,” said Daryl Hurst, president, Maaco. “These owners are role models for our franchise partner family and are setting the standard for Maaco now and into the future of better.”
The Maaco Convention, themed “The Future of Better”, was held at the Moon Palace the Grand luxury resort in Cancun. Nearly 400 members of the Maaco family attended from the U.S. and Canada.
