Axalta Launches Sustainable Star Awards

Axalta Launches Sustainable Star Awards

The launch follows Axalta’s recent release of its 2014-2015 Sustainability Report.

Axalta-Sustainable-Star-AwardIndividuals and businesses are increasingly taking responsibility to help preserve our future. Axalta Coating Systems says that recognizing good stewardship is an essential part of the equation. In line with this idea, the company launched the Axalta Sustainable Star Awards program for body shops that use sustainable practices. The contest runs until 11:59 p.m. on November 15th. The launch follows Axalta’s recent release of its 2014-2015 Sustainability Report.

As a coatings company, Axalta says it produces products that are designed to improve durability, increase productivity and add beauty, while reducing its environmental footprint and energy intensity rate. The company adds that sustainability is central to virtually everything it does, and is an important aspect of its corporate vision.

The Sustainable Star Awards are open to United States-based Axalta refinish customers. The awards recognize body shops that have demonstrated the positive impact that sustainable initiatives can have on both the bottom line and the environment. There are two competition categories. The first category is for body shop owners who own one to five body shops. The second category is for body shop owners who own six or more shops.

“We know that many of our customers value sustainable practices and want to do their part to be environmentally responsible,” said Mike Carr, Axalta president – North America. “Our Sustainable Star Awards program seeks to recognize shops that have put in place processes to improve their cycle times, cut their electrical bills by finding efficiencies, increased staff training hours or have taken some other action that promotes sustainability.”

Award winners will win a trip for two in January 2017 to Axalta’s Sustainable Star Awards event, and can display the Axalta Sustainable Star Award logo in their shop, on their website and in promotional materials. Axalta also will profile the winners and their projects.
