SCRS to Hold Repairer Roundtable in Atlanta

SCRS to Hold Repairer Roundtable in Atlanta

The roundtable, slated for April 8th in Atlanta, will feature panelists who will discuss how collision repairers can keep safe when working on advanced materials.

The Society of Collision Repair Specialists (SCRS) will hold the newest Repairer Roundtable gathering on April 8th from 8:30 to 11 a.m. in Atlanta.

The morning meeting will feature a panel and live audience discussion, and will focus on safety and preventative measures collision repairers should be taking as the materials they work with – and their knowledge of them – evolve in the vehicles they see entering their shops. This can range from cleanliness habits to understanding metallurgical reactions different materials demonstrate to things such as heat, pulling, contamination or other environmental factors. The conversation will touch on considerations in preparing for future tools, fire suppression, dust and debris containment, protective equipment, and why certain practices and procedures aren’t optional.

The panelists will discuss a variety of recommendations for preparation and preventative measures every shop should be looking at, whether they’re diving into OEM aluminum certifications or working on ultra high strength steels.

The panel will feature industry veterans:

Audience members are encouraged to come prepared to pose questions and share experiences as well, transitioning the panel discussion presentation into a roundtable discussion amongst those present. The event is open to all industry members who wish to learn from and support initiatives that foster a better informed industry, but an RSVP is requested to accommodate for space. Click here to RSVP.

Following the roundtable at 11:15 a.m., SCRS will host the annual Corporate Member & Industry Awards and Recognition Luncheon. The Collision Industry Conference (CIC) will start after that at 1 p.m.

There is no fee to attend any of the SCRS events. However, pre-registration is mandatory for either or both events. To register now for the Repairer Roundtable and/or the Awards Luncheon, click here. Deadline for registration is Friday, April 3rd, 2015.
