I-CAR Western Regional Conference Honors Instructors, Volunteers

Outstanding instructors and volunteers recognized for their dedication and commitment to I-CAR.

During the conference, outstanding instructors and volunteers were recognized for their dedication and commitment to I-CAR and for delivering collision repair training to their local areas. Attendees also participated in networking events, presentations and open forum discussions throughout the conference.

“The instructors and volunteers of I-CAR are the lifeblood of this organization," said Jeff Peevy, I-CAR senior director of field operations and segment development. "Without them, we would not be able to live up to the I-CAR vision. It is an honor to recognize them for the significant contributions they have made to so many people in the industry that we serve.”

Committee chairmen were recognized for their 2012 results, and an individual from each region was recognized for the Lon Baudoux Instructor of the Year Award, the King TUT (Total Units Taught) Award and the Founder’s Award.

For 2012, Bill Vocasek (Northwest region) and Michael Lonabaugh (Southwest region) were recognized with the Lon Baudoux Instructor of the Year Award. This award is presented to an I-CAR instructor who most exemplifies the I-CAR presence in the classroom, a commitment to excellence and keeping pace with technology.

"It is an honor to recognize this year’s Instructor of the Year recipients. Both gentlemen have made an impact on many of us in the industry.”

The King TUT Award is presented to the I-CAR instructor with the most students taught in their region. The instructors who were recognized for their 2012 accomplishments were Marc Essig (Northwest region) and Toby Chess (Southwest region).

The Founder’s Award is presented to one individual in each region who most exemplifies the I-CAR volunteer spirit. Each recipient is given an I-CAR Founder’s ring in appreciation of their dedication. Ralph Groover was recognized in the Northwest region; Keith Going in the Southwest region.

“The recognition that was given to each of these individuals was well-deserved," said Gene Lopez, I-CAR Southwest regional manager. "Their contributions to our industry are so valuable; and for that, we thank them.”
