MERA to Host Remanufacturing Technology Expo at NACE/CARS 2014

Event to take place Thursday, July 31, in the Ambassador Ballroom at the COBO Convention Center.

The Motor Equipment Remanufacturers Association (MERA) has joined a growing coalition of leading organizations supporting NACE/CARS 2014 and Industry Week in Detroit this summer. MERA will host a Remanufacturing Technology Expo on Thursday, July 31, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Ambassador Ballroom at the COBO Convention Center.

“We are excited to have MERA join us in Detroit,” said Dan Risley, ASA president and executive director. “This is a very important organization in the automotive market, and their participation, content and attendance is beneficial to Industry Week. The overriding purpose of the event is to bring the industry together, and MERA’s involvement further solidifies our goal of deeper market coverage.”

Added John Chalifoux, president and CEO of MERA, “Remanufactured parts offer like-new quality and real value that technicians and end users can trust. During the MERA Remanufacturing Technology Expo, members will showcase the advanced methods they use to restore core components to original or better condition and performance.”

Registration information and the agenda is available at MERA.org/techexpo.

Along with MERA, other industry organizations will host meetings, events and/or exhibit during Industry Week including I-CAR, CIC, ASE, CIECA, NABC, SCRS, CCIF, the OEM Collision Repair Roundtable, ETI and the Collision Repair Education Foundation.

In addition to the industry meetings taking place throughout the week, there will be numerous tours and recreational outings for spouses, guests and families. Some of these events include museum tours, Detroit Tigers baseball games, river and city tours, and casino visits. More information on the city of Detroit can be found through the Convention & Visitor’s Bureau at www.visitdetroit.com.

Now in its 32nd year, NACE/CARS will feature numerous opportunities for technical training, business education, demonstrations, networking and technology showcases for stakeholders, owners, managers and technicians in the collision and service repair industries. Registration discounts apply to ASA members as well as members of key organizations. There are also discounts for I-CAR-trained and ASE-certified staff and repair facilities.
