CARSTAR Owner Finds Unique Way to Expand Third Location

Cleveland CARSTAR Owner Finds Latest Acquisition on Craigslist

Owner Jeremy Orsky was surfing the popular website featuring local classifieds and forums, and when an ad for a full body shop popped up, it caught his interest.

Jeremy and Theresa Orsky have quickly grown their collision repair business with CARSTAR Auto Body Repair Experts. They opened their first shop, CARSTAR Coach & Collision, in Cleveland in 2012. Their second location, CARSTAR Tim’s Collision in Twinsburg, Ohio, opened in late 2014. Now, the Orskys have added a third shop, CARSTAR Brunswick, located in Brunswick, Ohio.

What makes this latest addition interesting is the uncommon way in which the Orskys found out about it. On occasion, Jeremy Orsky will shop ads on Craigslist for equipment or potential business opportunities. When an ad for a full body shop popped up, it caught his interest.

“The ad said ‘Turnkey Body Shop,’ and it had a little star on the map with the street name,” said Orsky. “I was able to determine which one it was based on the map. I knew that the shop had been marketed for sale prior to that, and that the owner had even negotiated to sell it to a consolidator. When we came along, he liked us and accepted our offer.”

CARSTAR Brunswick is an 11,000-square-foot shop that sits on a two-acre, fenced-in lot. It is a perfect complement to the Orskys’ other two locations. While all three shops are fully capable of performing high-quality collision repair work, the Orskys are now better equipped to load level their work depending on the type of repair.

Their flagship location, CARSTAR Tim’s, is a 25,000-square-foot I-CAR Gold shop that also carries all of the OEM certifications. That will be their central location where specialty work, like aluminum repair, will be sent. They’re also set up to handle mechanical work at that shop.

“What we get with our latest location in Brunswick is expansion into another county which has steady growth,” said Orsky. “The large fenced-in lot will also be a great place for inventory storage. We are also in the process of buying a flatbed wrecker to be able to move inventory around as needed.”

Orsky also said that his newest shop will soon join the other two with I-CAR Gold status. Not only does he employ I-CAR-trained technicians, he’s also an instructor.
