NORTHEAST 2016 to Hold Variable Rate System Seminar

Sam and Richard Valenzuela of National AutoBody Research will discuss the various aspects of the Variable Rate System and the ways it benefits both body shop owners and the industry as a whole.

aasp-nj-logoOver the last few years, the Alliance of Automotive Service Providers of New Jersey (AASP/NJ) has advocated support for the National AutoBody Research (NABR) Variable Rate System. As a way to expand the usage of the system in the Northeast region, NABR’s Sam and Richard Valenzuela will be presenting the Variable Rate System at AASP/NJ’s 39th Annual NORTHEAST 2016 Automotive Services Show at the Meadowlands Exposition Center in Secaucus, N.J.

From March 18-19, the Valenzuelas will discuss the various aspects of the Variable Rate System and the ways it benefits both body shop owners and the industry as a whole. The demonstrations will highlight the many functions of the program, including how to search for rates in your market, how to differentiate your shop based on training, equipment and certifications, how to understand whether or not your labor rates are keeping up with inflation, and finding out which insurers are paying for specific not-included operations.

“The association thoroughly believes in the Variable Rate System and what it can do for the auto repair field in our state,” said AASP/NJ President Jeff McDowell. “As an independent, third-party survey and data source, it is one of the most reliable resources we have in negotiating fair reimbursement by insurance companies for both our labor rates and the procedures we use to properly repair cars. For those who have not already participated in the Variable Rate System, as well as those who have participated but aren’t using it to its fullest potential, you have to be at one of these demonstrations.

“The one question I hear from every shop is, ‘How can we make more money?’ Well, let me tell you, if this seminar doesn’t show you how, then I don’t know what will. But you have to be there. You can’t just sit back and think it’s just going to appear out of nowhere. This is the kind of education NORTHEAST is all about. But you have to show up.”
