AASP/NJ Offering Auto Body Compliance Class at NORTHEAST 2012

With the current auto body license renewal deadline of September 2012 fast approaching, AASP/NJ says it is offering members an opportunity to come into compliance at NORTHEAST 2012.

One of the Alliance of Automotive Service Providers of New Jersey’s (AASP/NJ’s) many goals to improve the New Jersey collision repair industry at-large is ensuring all members are in compliance with their state auto body license, the association says. With the current auto body license renewal deadline of September 2012 fast approaching, AASP/NJ says it is offering members an opportunity to come into compliance at NORTHEAST 2012.

All attendees of "NUCAR Presents: Hybrid Aftermarket Service" on Saturday, March 10, 2012 (2:30-3:30 p.m., Seminar Room B) will receive a certificate good toward the training requirement of the 2012 New Jersey auto body license.

The course, presented by master General Motors educator Jim Mickle and facilitated by Nick Halliday (wholesale parts manager of NUCAR), will give attendees a better understanding of how to safely work with hybrid vehicles. Mickle and Halliday will cover a variety of topics, including the proper disabling of hybrid systems, the intricacies of hybrid batteries, welding, paint booth challenges, safety information and more.

"Jim is a highly qualified manufacturer representative, and we have had a longstanding, great relationship with NUCAR," said AASP/NJ Executive Director Charles Bryant. "And so we are very excited to be bringing them both of them in to NORTHEAST to present this course. The complex technology of hybrid vehicles is something that repairers are going to see more and more often in the very near future, and it’s crucial that they learn the ins and outs of repairing them properly and safely. We are offering this course especially for those who have not yet fulfilled the training requirement of the NJ Auto Body License, but I highly recommend all repairers take this course."

NORTHEAST 2012 will also be presenting seminars on many other automotive service issues including new paint technologies (Painting With Blended Nitrogen), customer service (The Customer Encounter: How the Front End Can Make or Break Your Business) and out-of-the-box marketing practices (How to Capture More Cars, Customers & Revenue Through Digital Marketing) as well as the latest I-CAR classes.
