CONSOLIDATOR REPORT: The Boyd Group, Caliber Collsion Centers Expand U.S. Footprints

The Boyd Group recently announced the opening of two Gerber Collision & Glass locations, while Caliber Collision announced the acquisition of a Texas shop.

The Boyd Group has opened a new start-up repair center in Cartersville, Ga. And acquired a location in Owasso, Okla.

The new Georgia facility is approximately 16,000 square feet, with nearly 14,000 square feet of production space. The Boyd Group says it’s well located to help serve consumers and insurance clients in the hub of northwest Georgia.

The Oklahoma repair center, previously known as the Collision Center of Owasso, Inc., is approximately 17,500 square feet, with nearly 16,000 square feet of production space.

With these new facilities, Gerber Collision & Glass now operates eight centers in Georgia, three repair centers in Oklahoma and 54 overall in the U.S. Together with its 37 centers in Canada, the Boyd Group owns and operates 91 centers in North America.

“We continue to execute our growth strategy of expanding our network of repair centers in the U.S.,” said Tim O’Day, President and COO of the Boyd Group’s U.S. Operations.

The Boyd Group says it’s continuously looking to add new collision repair locations to its existing network in Canada and the U.S.

Caliber Collision Centers announced the acquisition of Auto Body Experience located in El Paso, Texas. The new Caliber Collision El Paso location, situated on Gateway Boulevard on the east side of the city, has been operating as a collision repair shop for approximately four years.

“We are very pleased to bring Caliber Collision to the El Paso area in order to satisfy the growing needs of vehicle owner customers and our clients in this market. We look forward to delivering the operational consistency, customer focus, and overall cost management our clients expect and becoming the collision repair provider of choice in the El Paso community,” said Steve Grimshaw, CEO of Caliber Collision Centers.

Founded in 1997, with headquarters in Irvine, Caliber Collision Centers operates collision repair facilities in California and Texas. Caliber is the largest independently operated collision repair organization within the U.S. and currently owns and operates 76 facilities. Caliber plans to continue acquiring, developing and integrating high-volume collision repair centers while providing innovative collision repair solutions and automobile physical damage claims support.
