From Tire Review
This National Teen Driver Safety Week, Oct. 18-24, NHTSA is launching its “5 to Drive” campaign to start the conversation on safe teen driving.
Motor vehicle crashes are a leading cause of death for 15 to 19 year olds in the U.S., according to NHTSA.
Tire Review will join NHTSA to promote the 5 to Drive rules on Facebook and Twitter all week.
The 5 to Drive campaign was created to help parents talk to their teen drivers about driving safely, with a set of five rules that address the most dangerous, and even deadly, teen driving behaviors.
The 5 to Drive rules include:
- No Drinking and Driving
- Buckle Up. Every Trip. Every Time. Front Seat and Back
- Put It Down. One Text or Call Could Wreck It All
- Stop Speeding Before It Stops You
- No More Than One Passenger at a Time
