SCRS to Hold Open Meeting During SEMA Show

Meeting will highlight association's 2013 initiatives and offer insight into future areas of focus, including the importance of proper repairs.

The Society of Collision Repair Specialists (SCRS) will hold an open meeting from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 5, in the North Hall of the Las Vegas Convention Center (Booth 10879) on the SEMA Show Collision Repair and Refinish Stage.

The free meeting, open to any industry member, will serve as an open address to industry members
highlighting the association’s initiatives and activities from 2013. It
will include updates from the SCRS chairman and executive director, and
will offer a glimpse into future areas of focus the association will address
on behalf of its membership.

One of the presentations will be led by SCRS Education Committee member Toby Chess, who will discuss the importance of proper repairs. The presentation will visually show actual improper repairs performed in the marketplace, and how a culture of disregard for OEM repair procedures and necessary equipment can compromise consumer safety.

In addition to committee reports, SCRS will welcome Toyota Motor Sales Collision Business Development Consultant Rick Leos to announce the final launch of estimating solutions the automaker has been working on in conjunction with estimating products. Preliminary announcements were made in conjunction with SCRS at the past two SEMA Shows, setting the stage for a preliminary reveal at the SCRS open meeting this year.
