The Society of Collision Repair Specialists (SCRS) will offer a waterborne education course as part of its RDE series during this year’s SEMA Show. Titled "RD15 Waterborne Refinish Coatings: What Are You Waiting For?", the two-hour session will demonstrate the capabilities and advantages of water technology in today’s demanding markets, in addition to a historical overview of the product’s evolution and North American legislation status reports. PPG Automotive Refinish’s Tim Jones, Dr. Gareth Hughes and John Parran will lead the session.
In addition to the PPG representatives, television personality Charley Hutton, painter and owner of Charley Hutton’s Color Studio, will be on hand to answer any questions after the session. An active user of waterborne, Hutton is the winner of two Ridler Awards, several Street Rod of the Year awards and Custom Rod of the Year awards. He is also the recipient of the America’s Most Beautiful Roadster award, and has made appearances on television shows "Overhaulin’" and "American Hot Rod."
