Matrix Automotive Finishes has selected the winners of its Award Winning Finishes Contest. First-, second- and third-place winners are featured in the 2017 Matrix Automotive Finishes Calendar along with the work of some of the country’s most renowned refinishers using Matrix-only brand products.

“This year’s calendar showcases the work of an amazing group of talent,” said Laura Yerkey, director of marketing, Valspar Automotive. “You’ll see some pretty remarkable vehicles finished in Matrix products, including a 40s Ford Coupe and a throwback Big Twin Trike from the garage of Count’s Kustoms painted by Ryan Evans.”

The 2017 calendar also features the work of Matrix’s first-ever “Mavericks of Color”: Ryan Evans from History’s “Counting Cars” and Danny “the Count” Koker’s Count’s Kustoms garage in Las Vegas, Nev.; Cody Lumpkin from Dick Lumpkins Auto Body in Piqua, Ohio; and Shane Marchyshyn from Automotive Services Inc. in Columbus, Ohio.

“Each is truly an ambassador of the brand, a devout user that knows the product line inside and out and trusts and values the brand position when it comes to quality, performance and color match,” Yerkey said.

Following is a list of this year’s Award Winning Finishes painters featured in the 2017 Matrix calendar, beginning with the first-, second- and third-place winners.
