Property Casualty 360 has listed the top 9 insurance fraudsters of 2016, one of whom is a body shop owner with mob ties who staged phony deer hits.
According to Property Casualty 360‘s article, body shop owner Ron Galati of Philadelphia used deer carcasses to stage vehicle wrecks in an attempt to soak auto insurers of $5 million for trumped-up injury and damage claims. Galati stored deer carcasses, hair and blood at his body shop and had employees pour the blood over cars, set up crashes and take what they called “Hollywood photos” of the bogus wreck scenes for insurers.
