3M’s Dynamic Mixing System Named Year’s Best New Product at ASRW

3M’s Dynamic Mixing System was named the “Best New Product” of Automotive Service & Repair Week (ASRW) 2008. It was chosen from more than 20 new products featured at the NACE Expo and CARS Event in Las Vegas.

“3M is honored to have the Dynamic Mixing System recognized as the Best New Product of ASRW,” said Kevin Rickelman, marketing supervisor with 3M’s Automotive Aftermarket Division. “We designed this product with body technicians in mind, simplifying the process of mixing and applying body filler and glaze.”

In the past, technicians mixed filler materials by hand, which was time-consuming, and could lead to inconsistent mixing, pinholes, and wasted materials, 3M says. 3M’s Dynamic Mixing System, a pneumatic, hand-held applicator gun that uses a nozzle with cyclonic mixing action, blends filler and glaze with the correct amount of crème hardener and dispenses it in controlled amounts.

“The dent repair process has changed very little over the past 50 years,” said Rickelman. “With the introduction of the Dynamic Mixing System, we’re taking a whole new approach – focusing on not just the product, but also the process. With the Dynamic Mixing System, technicians can get ‘filler on demand’ – where they want it, when they want it, in just the amount they need.”
