CCC Information Services Inc. Convenes Science Advisory Board

CCC Information Services Inc. announced today it has formed a Science Advisory Board comprised of top professors in the areas of predictive data modeling, data analysis and science to assist the company in assessing and advancing the strategic and practical applications of these disciplines in its future product innovation. The CCC Science Advisory Board, which convened for the first time earlier this year, will meet with CCC executives and product experts on an ongoing basis as well as work on specific projects to expand CCC’s current CCC ONE Predictive Solutions Method of Inspection offering.

This board includes some of the best thinkers on the topics of data and predictive analytics, and their input will help strengthen the solutions we offer today and help position CCC to lead our customers forward with the solutions of tomorrow.”

The CCC Science Advisory Board Members include:

• Michael Braun, associate professor of marketing, MIT Sloan School of Management

Dr. Braun wrote his Ph.D. dissertation on customer decision making in insurance. His current research focuses on modeling and forecasting customer acquisition, targeting, retention and lifetime value.   

• Thomas Miller, graduate program faculty director for M.S. Predictive Analytics, Northwestern University

Dr. Miller spends most of his time working in Northwestern University’s Predictive Analytics program. His primary areas of research include tree-structured modeling and machine learning.

• Garrett VanRyzin, Paul M. Montrone professor of private enterprise, chair of Decision, Risk and Operations, Columbia Business School
       
Dr. VanRyzin has been at Columbia for 20 years, focusing on pricing models, market response, optimization and automation.  

• Rakesh Vohra, John L. & Helen Kellogg professor of managerial economics & decision sciences & director of the Center of Mathematical Studies in Economics and Management Science, Kellogg School of Management, Northwestern University

Dr. Vohra is an economist who works on pricing and auctions. His current research is in designing contracts without using underlying assumptions in the demand process, and assessing the reliability of a prediction/forecast.

In addition to serving in an advisory capacity, board members will work with CCC to educate insurance and repair professionals on topics related to the value, use and adoption of data solutions in their businesses.
