State Farm’s George Avery Named 2013-14 CIC Chairman

Claims consultant will serve two-year term, moderating and facilitating all Collision Industry Conferences in 2013 and 2014.

George Avery, claims consultant with State Farm, was named the incoming chairman of the Collision Industry Conference (CIC) for 2013-2014 at the July 17-18 CIC in San Antonio, Texas.

Current CIC Chairman Michael Quinn, co-founder of 911 Collision Centers, will do the ceremonial “passing of the gavel” at the CIC Oct. 31-Nov. 1 in Las Vegas, held during the SEMA Show.

Avery will have responsibility for chairing all four CIC meetings in 2013, which will be held January 23-25 in Palm Springs, Calif., April 3-4 in Phoenix, Ariz., July 23-25 at a location to be determined and at the 2013 SEMA Show. He will also serve as CIC chairman in 2014 as the position is for two years.

The CIC chairman moderates and facilitates discussion during the CIC meetings, creates an environment of mutual respect, civility and courtesy that fosters the free exchange of ideas, and works behind the scenes with CIC committees, which include Insurer-Repairer Relations, Data Privacy, Definitions and others.
