Virginia Body Shop Manager Restores Teen’s Vandalized Vehicle

Richard Henegar, Jr., of Quality Auto Paint & Body rounds up community help to restore college student's ride.

The vehicle, owned by Jordan Addison, a student at Radford University, had been vandalized four times in the span of three months, once at his residence and three times at school. The first time, homophobic slurs were keyed into it. The second time, the word “die” was carved into the car.

Word of the event didn’t take long to get to Richard Henegar, Jr., of Quality Auto Paint & Body in Roanoke, who decided to do something about it by enlisting local businesses to donate supplies and labor to restore Addison’s Volkswagen back to mint condition.

The fix-up cost more than $10,000 and included a paint job, new tires, rims, security system, tinted windows and a stereo.

Henegar’s name may be familiar to the collision repair community as he was featured in the September 2011 issue of BodyShop Business for completely restoring and tricking out his friend Jason’s truck while Jason was in Afghanistan serving in the Army.
