AMI and Babcox Media Announce BodyShop Business Scholarship Recipient

Tommy Clayton, owner of Tommy's Dent Service in Gibsonville, N.C., receives $1,000 to be applied toward educational expenses at NACE.

The Automotive Management Institute (AMI) and Babcox Media have jointly announced that Tommy Clayton, owner of Tommy’s Dent Service in Gibsonville, N.C., is the recipient of this year’s BodyShop Business Magazine Scholarship.

AMI and Babcox Media present the scholarship annually to recognize management-oriented members of the Automotive Service Association (ASA) Collision Division. The recipient receives $1,000 to be applied toward expenses to attend educational sessions and view the latest repair technologies and equipment during the 2012 International Autobody Congress & Exposition (NACE), Oct. 10-13, in New Orleans.

Clayton has worked in the collision industry for 25 years and has been a shop owner for the last 13 years. He holds several industry certifications and is currently completing the necessary requirements to earn the Institute’s Accredited Automotive Manager (AAM) designation. Clayton is a member of the National Alliance of PDR Technicians and ASA, where he is currently serving on the national Collision Division Operations Committee. When not working in the shop, he contributes his time to various community and industry organizations.

“I’m honored to receive this opportunity to continue my education and look forward to expanding my knowledge of the industry through the educational sessions and networking events offered at NACE,” said Clayton.
