AMI and ASA Announce Emil Stanley Merit Award Recipient

Ben Rouw, general manager for Steele's Collision & Glass in Monticello, Minn., will receive $1,000 for educational expenses.

The Automotive Management Institute (AMI) and the Automotive Service Association (ASA) have announced that Ben Rouw, general manager for Steele’s Collision & Glass, Monticello, Minn., is the recipient of this year’s Emil Stanley Merit Award.

The award honors Emil Stanley, who was publisher of Automotive Body Repair News (ABRN) until his death in 1989. He was committed to strengthening the professionalism of the collision repair industry through education. He was recognized as a strong advocate of the International Autobody Congress & Exposition (NACE), the world’s largest collision repair event sponsored annually by ASA.

Rouw has worked in the automotive and collision repair industry for more than 19 years. He is currently completing the necessary requirements to earn the Institute’s Accredited Automotive Manager (AAM) designation. When not working in the shop, he contributes his time to various community and industry organizations.

As the scholarship recipient, Rouw will receive $1,000 to be applied toward expenses to attend educational sessions and view the latest repair technologies and equipment during NACE, Oct. 10-13, in New Orleans.

“I am honored to be the recipient of this award and I’m looking forward to the training and networking opportunities that this scholarship will facilitate. This opportunity will provide me with new knowledge and help build industry relationships that are critical to my future success,” said Rouw.
