North Carolina Body Shop Sues Six Insurers on Behalf of Customers

Pack Brothers Collision Center accuses Nationwide, State Farm, Allstate, GEICO, Penn National and Amica of refusing to pay for "reasonable and necessary" parts, procedures and materials.

Pack Brothers Collision Center of Belmont, North Carolina, has filed 16 lawsuits on behalf of their customers against Nationwide, State Farm, Allstate, GEICO, Penn National and Amica. The suits allege that the insurers refused to pay for “reasonable and necessary” parts, procedures and materials to return customers’ vehicles back to "pre-accident condition." The total amount sought in the lawsuits is in excess of $23,000, plus legal fees and court cost.

Pack Brothers informed their customers of the alleged short pays by the insurers, and those customers then authorized the shop to proceed with recommended repairs and signed documentation authorizing the shop to act on their behalf.

“We work for the owner of the vehicle – not the insurance company," said Ronnie Pack of Pack Brothers Collision Center. "Our primary focus is putting an individual and their family back in a repaired vehicle that ensures the safety of its occupants. We do the work, we charge for the work, and we expect to be paid for the work to make sure this happens.”
