Two Sacramento-based multiple-shop operators (MSOs), Golden State Collision Centers and Bodycraft Collision Centers, recently merged operations. The newly established partnership will now operate under the name Golden State Collision Repair Centers, A Bodycraft Company.
"You have to be much bigger as far as an organization goes to compete in today’s environment," said Bruce Mackie, CEO of Bodycraft. "An MSO can afford to do a lot of things, as far as the investment needed to work on the cars out there today with all the technology and certification programs. You just have to have that mass.
"I picked Golden State because of the quality of their organization and their people. It made a good fit."
The merging of the two shops brings the total number of locations to 19. In the future, the MSO hopes to expand beyond Northern California into surrounding states.
