Quincy Compressor Acquires Illinois-Based Distributor

Acquisition of four National Pump & Compressor branches to strengthen market presence in the Midwest.

Quincy Compressor has acquired the assets of four National Pump & Compressor (NPC) branches in the state of Illinois. Formerly operating as Cochrane Compressor and acquired by NPC in 2009, the acquired company has been a Quincy distributor for more than 60 years.

"This acquisition allows us to focus on sales and service in the Midwest,” said John Thompson, president of Quincy Compressor. “We have established strong customer relationships in the region and intend to strengthen our market presence, building upon the solid customer base established by NPC’s Chicago-based team.”

Forty-three employees in a variety of sales and service roles joined Quincy Compressor from NPC. The acquired branches now form Quincy’s direct sales and service center in Illinois, which ranks as the United States’ fifth largest economy. As a key industrial and manufacturing hub of the American economy, it serves a broad range of manufacturing sectors including chemical, electronics, food and general industry.
