Eddie Quintela, owner and operator of Collision Concepts of Delray Beach, Fla., has filed a lawsuit against Infinity Insurance Company on behalf of his customer for the insurer’s alleged short pays of “reasonable and necessary” repair costs.

Quintela’s corporate legal counsel, Attorney Brent Geohagan of Lakeland, Fla., filed the suit for an underpayment of $611 for Infinity’s arbitrary discount on parts and failure to provide ample consideration for numerous necessary repair processes, related materials, labor rates and quality replacement parts.

“Our customer is angry and upset that his insurer, whom he trusted to be there in his time of need, is attempting to underpay for his repair and force him to unauthorized discounts and to use inferior replacement parts," said Quintela. "Who can blame him for being upset? So as a courtesy to our client, we provided a proper and thorough repair using quality replacement parts with the understanding that we would seek recovery of his insurer’s underpayments on his behalf. Our customer is very appreciative of our commitment to quality and for helping him in his time of need.”
