I-CAR Director of Corporate Administration Appointed WIN Chair

As chair of the WIN board, Margaret Knell will promote women’s initiatives across all segments of the collision industry.

I-CAR’s director of corporate administration, Margaret Knell, has been appointed chair of the Women’s Industry Network (WIN).

Knell has been with I-CAR for more than 25 years and is an integral member of the organization, serving I-CAR and its 22-person I-CAR Board of Directors and associated Board Committees.

“Margaret’s legal and board relations expertise, as well as her related industry experience, allows her to influence critical areas of I-CAR’s business and I believe she will be highly effective leading the WIN board and developing strategies that will enable the organization to continue delivering the WIN mission," said John Van Alstyne, I-CAR CEO and president. "Her deep level of commitment and strategic focus make her an ideal person to serve as WIN Board chair."

As chair of the WIN board, Knell will be actively involved in supporting educational opportunities for women in the industry, enhancing WIN’s value proposition and promoting women’s initiatives across all segments of the industry. WIN board members work together to guide the organization as well as foster an environment that encourages the education, recruitment, retention and networking of women in the collision repair industry.

In 2012, Knell was awarded the Cornerstone Award by WIN, which is given annually to a board member who exemplifies the values and ideals of WIN. She is also a recipient of the Most Influential Women in the Collision Repair Industry (MIW) Award sponsored by AkzoNobel.

Knell holds a bachelor’s degree in business and communications from John Carroll University in Cleveland, Ohio, an MBA from Keller Graduate School in Chicago, Ill., and an M.S. in information technology and privacy law from the John Marshall Law School in Chicago.
