Mirka Abrasives Opens New Technology Center

Finland-based facility to host training courses and workshops.

In conjunction with being in business for 70 years, Mirka Abrasives recently celebrated the opening of its new Technology Center in Finland.

The facility is equipped with technology such as ATEX-certified, gas heated paint booths and an auditorium with the latest presentation technology.

The total investment in the center amounts to $4.8 million, with a goal of having the facility become an internationally recognized center for sanding and finishing systems. Mirka says it aims to have at least 1,500 individuals annually participate in Mirka Academy training courses and workshops.

Car ADAS Solutions has welcomed Lakestate Calibrations as a new licensee. Owned by Joel Butler, the 3,000-square-foot calibration facility is in Gaylord, Mich.

“We are proud to offer our customers the best calibrations in our new state-of-the-art facility designed specifically for ADAS calibrations requirements,” said Butler, who has more than 30 years of experience in the collision industry and is a partner in a nearby body shop. “Our team is comprised of knowledgeable industry professionals and works with America’s top insurance companies.”
