Collision Diagnostic Services (CDS) has completed the latest round of product development and announces a software update for the astech device. The update expands vehicle coverage to include Ford, Lincoln and Mercury makes and models from 2008 to 2014. Like others, this update will be automatic upon re-engaging the astech for the next scan and is free of charge to CDS customers.
Using the astech device, collision shops gain access to a certified master technician who uses an OE-specific scan tool to remotely scan vehicles for fault codes. This allows collision shops to keep a vehicle in-house while CDS conducts the scan. The full service includes a detailed astech report from CDS, written by one of the company’s certified master technicians who have an average of 20 years of automotive experience.
“As vehicle diagnostic networks continue to evolve, so does the astech technology,” said Walt McIntyre, chief operating officer for CDS. “Our team has been working for months to further expand into Ford vehicles, and we are pleased to provide this expanded service to the industry."
