Collision repair training experts at I-CAR have worked alongside Ford Motor Company engineers during the 2015 Ford F-150 design and development process to create a training solution for collision repair professionals who will work on the next generation of Ford’s most popular truck.
“This is a game‐changer in the way the collision repair industry approaches training: to be fully prepared with the knowledge, skills and solutions needed before the vehicle debuts,” said John Van Alstyne, CEO and president of I-CAR. “Traditionally, repair solutions are not developed until after a vehicle is publicly launched, leaving a gap in repair readiness. I‐CAR commends Ford for its proactive approach, working together with I-CAR to develop a repair solution that addresses complete, safe and quality repairs for the new F‐150, and doing so before the vehicle enters production.”

Two years of development has culminated in I-CAR’s new six‐credit hour 2015 Ford F‐150 Structural Repair course (FOR06) that covers all topics on aluminum, and dives deep into vehicle-specific repair information. This instructor‐led course uses discussion, education and decision‐making exercises to equip technicians to properly repair this game‐changing vehicle. Industry training for FOR06 will open June 1.
I‐CAR will deliver this training to the Ford dealer network and independent repairers across the U.S. market prior to vehicle launch.
