VeriFacts Automotive IVQ Program Recognized by 12 National Insurers

Insurers conclude that program fulfills DRP requirements.

VeriFacts Automotive has announced that a 12th automobile insurer recently concluded that the VeriFacts Independently Verified Quality (IVQ) program does fulfill their direct repair program (DRP) requirements.

Many insurance company DRP requirements include evidence of training or certification for collision repair facilities to participate in the insurer’s DRP. Repair facilities that have achieved the VerfiFacts Independently Verified Quality standard meet these requirements for the 12 insurers.

“We recently learned that the 12th major automobile insurance company has included the VeriFacts IVQ program as part of its DRP application,” said Farzam Afshar, VeriFacts Automotive CEO. “Collision repair facilities demonstrate continuous, measurable improvement through VeriFacts’ unique on-site, independent verification of material, equipment, training, process and repair output. Having these collision repair facilities’ investment in quality recognized by the insurance industry is a win-win-win for collision repairers, insurers and, most importantly, consumers.”

The VeriFacts IVQ program, originally launched in April 2010, was expanded in February to include three categories of collision repair facility verification including:

  • Cosmetic (no structural, suspension damage or welding required)
  • Structural (all cosmetic including structural, welding, measuring required)
  • Aluminum/Composite (ability to repair and weld aluminum along with repair of composite materials)

With these three categories identified, VeriFacts says the consumer and insurance industry can better match shops to the types of repairs needed after a crash. Collision shops may fall into one, two or all three categories based on the data collected, verified and maintained each month during unannounced visits by VeriFacts.
