As part of a longstanding relationship with the Society of Collision Repair Specialists (SCRS), three AkzoNobel executives will serve as facilitators and lead speakers during the Repairer Driven Education series at the SEMA Show, taking place Nov. 4-7 in Las Vegas.
The collision repair-focused sessions include:
- “Surviving the Push for Refinish Reductions – Spot within Panel Survival Kit”
Presented by Tim Ronak, AkzoNobel senior services consultant
Thursday, Nov. 6 from 12:30-2:30 p.m. in RDE9Course description: A 2014 update on the industry acclaimed “Spot With-in Panel Survival Kit” designed to utilize the databases to deflect requests to “alter” or “reduce” refinish times from published database times. A copy of this kit will be provided to attendees with a full breakdown of key definitions.
- “Getting Paid for Investing in Facility, Equipment and Training”
Presented by Tim Ronak, AkzoNobel senior services consultant
Thursday, Nov. 6 from 3-5 p.m. in RDE12Course description: The session will look at the shrinking labor GP percentage due to additional costs of investment in equipment, facility and training. Strategies will be explored to understand what measures can be taken to offset these rising business costs and justify a return on capital expenditure.
- “Are You Repair Planning, or Are You Really Just Estimating and Calling it Repair Planning?”
Presented by Scott Wheeler, AkzoNobel West regions services manager, and assisted by Bob Gilbert, North American PCE implementation specialist
Friday, Nov. 7 from 12:30-2:30 p.m. in RDE13Course description: The course will challenge current processes that repairers are using for repair planning and whether it creates value across the operation. Are results being measured? Are employees being encouraged to look for opportunities to continue to improve the process? Does the process focus on activities that create 90 percent of the supplements? How does upstream and downstream operations effect repair planning and continuous flow?
“Both Tim and Scott are recognized throughout the industry,” said Bill Orr, AkzoNobel North American communications manager. “They are genuine experts in these topics and are regularly sought after by major automotive professionals, from car manufacturers, to dealers, to body shops and even the media. It will be well worth the time and price of admission to receive the wealth of business-building information presented in these courses.”
Also presented under the SEMA Education/Event offering is the fourth annual AkzoNobel Sustainability Leadership Symposium on Monday, Nov. 3 from 1 to 5 p.m. in rooms N231-233. Collision repair stakeholders will gather to discuss sustainable solutions for some of the industry’s most critical issues. The symposium is free and open to all SEMA attendees and media.
In addition, the company will be exhibiting at Booth 25165 located in the South Hall’s Performance and Racing area.
