CARSTAR Cincinnati Expands Network By Acquiring New Shop

Theobald Family CARSTAR Collision Repair Centers ownership group adds CARSTAR Collision Center of Fairfield to bring total number of locations in the greater Cincinnati area to 10.

CARSTAR Auto Body Repair Experts announced that the Theobald Family CARSTAR Collision Repair Centers ownership group has added CARSTAR Collision Center of Fairfield in Fairfield, Ohio, bringing their total number of locations in the greater Cincinnati area to 10.

The shop, formerly known as CARSTAR Frank’s Auto Body, was owned by longtime franchisee David Brinkman. When Brinkman decided to sell his shop, he hoped the CARSTAR name would remain on the building. Fortunately, the Theobalds were ready to step up and take over.

“Dave Brinkman really wanted the shop to stay in the CARSTAR family,” according to Jim West, CEO of Theobald Family CARSTAR Collision Repair Centers. “We’re really fortunate that we were able to acquire this location. It was a quick and smooth transaction. Dave was a very gracious seller.”

West said that the transition has been smooth with no interruption in day-to-day operations. They were able to take possession on Dec. 31. West also said that the new facility will bring in around $5 million per year, and will add 20 percent to the group’s annual revenue. This addition also increases their total number of employees to 190 spread across the 10 shops.

CARSTAR Collision Center of Fairfield is housed in a 33,000-square-foot facility and is outfitted with top-of-the-line tools and equipment, including three lifts, three Pro Spot welders and three enclosed estimating bays. There is a full disassembly for repair process already in place, and they’re looking to add mechanic and alignment services in the near future.

“It meant a lot to us that, when Dave Brinkman decided to sell his shop, he chose another CARSTAR owner,” said CARSTAR CEO David Byers. “The Theobald family is a great group of owners. We are happy to see them expand their business, and look forward to seeing them continue to deliver the same high-quality service that they have for many years.”

CARSTAR is actively seeking new franchisees. Interested parties should contact Scott Robertson, vice president of development, at [email protected] or (913) 948-5014.
