A 29-year-old female auto body tech from Toronto, Canada, is seeking $20,000 via indiegogo.com to open an all-female auto body shop.

“I knew since the moment I started working in an auto body shop at the age of 17 that one day I wanted my own shop,” says Hilary on the website. “Over the past 12 years, I have worked non-stop in this industry to build my skills and reputation and be the best version of myself. I’ve worked for two of the most reputable shops in Canada, Legendary Motorcar and 427 Auto Collision, as well as currently teaching auto body at Centennial College. From what started out as me being the sole female in the shop has evolved into nine of us! Working with so many driven and talented young ladies gave me the idea to start Ink&Iron. We as women CAN succeed in this trade, and we can take it by storm…and we’re damn good at it!”

Hilary states that aside from raising funding for the shop, she would like to “focus on recruiting and training other young female apprentices in a nurturing and uplifting environment so that they can be the best they can be. Even if our goal isn’t met, every penny will still be put towards opening the shop and bringing this dream to life!”
