Recent results of The Harris Poll indicate that Americans are still unsure about sharing their roads with driverless cars.

The Harris Poll surveyed 2,276 U.S. adults in November 2014.

PR Newswire reported that when provided with a description of self-driving vehicles and an aided list of potential feelings they may have toward the technology, Americans display a wide range of sentiments toward the subject. Thirty-five percent say these vehicles are the future of driving while 24 percent believe they’re the designated drivers of the future. Twenty-four percent think self-driving cars are something out of The Jetsons. And 22 percent say it’s a technology they’d love to have and 19 percent say they’re “insanely cool.”

However, 34 percent say the cars are an unnecessary luxury and 32 percent feel they’re only for the wealthy. Thirty percent say it’s just a lazy way to drive and 12 percent just say they’re “confusing.”
