SCRS Open Meeting to Feature National and Local Highlights

SCRS Open Meeting to Feature Technical Presentation on 3 Series BMW

Meeting will feature a step-by-step analysis of the OEM-recommended procedures for replacing a quarter panel on a 3 Series BMW.

On April 7th, the Society of Collision Repair Specialists (SCRS) will hold an open board meeting from 3 to 5 p.m. at the Crowne Plaza Ravinia, Maplewood room, in Atlanta. The highlight of the meeting will be a technical presentation by the SCRS Education Committee with a step-by-step analysis of the OEM-recommended procedures for replacing a quarter panel on a 3 Series BMW. Committee presenters will highlight the unique operational steps, as well as the ramifications both repairers and consumers need to consider if the recommended procedures are not followed.

“The 48-slide depiction of this panel replacement is a tremendous example of how important it is for collision repairers to establish standard operating procedures that include obtaining and studying the OEM documented procedures,” said SCRS Education Committee member Toby Chess. “It will be eye-opening information for anyone interested in documenting the importance of conducting proper repairs, and the unsettling results when they are not adhered to.”

The meeting will also include updates and presentations from SCRS staff and committees outlining current and future work initiatives undertaken on behalf of the membership. SCRS will also welcome Howard Batchelor, executive director of the Georgia Collision Industry Association (GCIA), a SCRS affiliate association, who will provide insights into current projects and initiatives taking place at the regional level as well.

SCRS’ annual election will be held immediately after the open meeting and will conclude by 5:30 p.m. Participants must be a current member of SCRS to cast a vote in the election.

On April 8th, SCRS will host a Repairer Roundtable from 8:30 to 11 a.m., and the SCRS Corporate Member & Industry Awards Lunch from 11:15 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. There is no fee to attend any of the SCRS events. However, pre-registration is mandatory for either or both events on the 8th. Register now for the Repairer Roundtable and/or the Awards Luncheon by clicking here. Register no later than Friday, April 3rd, 2015.

The open board meeting is open to everyone wishing to learn more about the current state of the association’s activities and pressing industry topics. Attendees are not required to be a member of SCRS to participate in this meeting, and pre-registration is not required.
