Motorcar Parts of America Announces Acquisition of OE Plus

Motorcar Parts of America (MPA) announced it has completed the acquisition of OE Plus LTD, a privately held remanufacturer of alternators and starters based in North Dighton, Mass. Terms were not disclosed.

“This transaction continues our strategic focus on gaining market share in North America through synergistic opportunities that leverage the company’s infrastructure, while enhancing customer relationships,” said Selwyn Joffe, chairman, president and CEO of MPA. “OE Plus has strong brand recognition within the professional installer market, and we look forward to growing the business.”

According to the Automotive Aftermarket Suppliers Association’s 2014 Top Suppliers list, OE Plus generated total global sales of approximately $24 million in 2013.

Automotive aftermarket sheet metal has been the industry standard since the 1970s, and many times the reputation for these parts is less than good. Some companies rise above the rest with quality, fit and finish, but it is a difficult world to navigate with constantly changing parts and standards.
