AMI Still Accepting Applications for Four Scholarships

Applications for the Emil Stanley Merit Award, BodyShop Business Magazine Scholarship, Tom B. Babcox Memorial Scholarship and Arrowhead Automotive Aftermarket “High Octane” Scholarship must be submitted by June 20th.

The Automotive Management Institute (AMI) announced it is still accepting applications for the following four scholarships to be awarded this year: the Emil Stanley Merit Award, the BodyShop Business Magazine Scholarship, the Tom B. Babcox Memorial Scholarship and the Arrowhead Automotive Aftermarket “High Octane” Scholarship.

The Emil Stanley Merit Award and the BodyShop Business Magazine scholarships help pay expenses for recipients to attend NACE in Detroit, July 21-25.

The $1,000 Emil Stanley Merit Award is awarded annually to an individual who works in an Automotive Service Association (ASA) Collision Division member-business in good standing and who displays a desire to improve their business skills through management education. The 2015 award marks the 25th year in which AMI and ASA have honored Emil Stanley with this commemorative, management-oriented scholarship.

The $1,000 BodyShop Business Magazine Scholarship is also presented annually. AMI’s resource development effort, EXCEL, in conjunction with Babcox Media, established the scholarship that is awarded to an ASA Collision Division member-business in good standing and who displays a desire to improve their business skills through management education.

NACE, the world’s largest collision repair event, is sponsored by ASA and represents the only B2B event of its kind specifically designed for collision repair industry professionals from around the globe. NACE features a comprehensive educational conference offering AMI-approved management seminars, technical courses and industry sessions. The expo offers hundreds of exhibiting companies displaying the latest equipment, products, services and technology available to today’s collision repair industry.

The Tom B. Babcox Memorial Scholarship and the Arrowhead Specialty Market “High Octane” Scholarship cover expenses for recipients to attend the Congress of Automotive Repair and Service (CARS) in Detroit, July 21-25.

The $1,000 Tom B. Babcox Memorial Scholarship was established by EXCEL, in conjunction with Babcox Media. It is awarded to an ASA Mechanical Division member-business in good standing and who displays a desire to improve their business skills through management education.

The $1,000 Arrowhead Automotive Aftermarket “High Octane” Scholarship was established by EXCEL, in conjunction with Arrowhead Automotive Aftermarket. It is awarded to a ASA Mechanical Division member-business in good standing and who displays a desire to improve their business skills through management education.

CARS, also sponsored by ASA, features an educational lineup led by industry leaders, along with an exhibitor showcase of automotive service and repair-related equipment, products and services.

Along with NACE | CARS, a series of automotive repair industry events and co-located meetings will take place July 21-25. There will be a series of board and other private meetings such as:

  • CIC quarterly meeting
  • CREF golf fundraiser
  • I-CAR add-on learning classes
  • I-CAR stage and demos
  • CCIF meeting
  • NABC meeting
  • MERA meeting
  • NACE | CARS Expo

Additional details, requirements and applications are available on the AMI website at www.AMIonline.org.
