Kadel’s Auto Body Raises $34,000 for Children’s Cancer

Kadel’s 22nd Annual Golf Classic Raises $34,000 for Children’s Cancer Association

MSO's tournament brings in $30,000, with Enterprise Rent-A-Car donating another $4,000 to assist families with children diagnosed with cancer and other serious illnesses.

kadel-2Kadel’s Auto Body, a 23-location collision operation in the Pacific Northwest including Oregon, Washington and Idaho, announced that it raised $34,000 for the Children’s Cancer Association (CCA) via its 22nd Annual Kadel’s Golf Classic at Langdon Farms Golf Course on June 9th.

The tournament itself – through sponsors, donations and tournament events – brought in $30,000, and Enterprise Rent-A-Car donated another $4,000. A full tournament of golfers turned out for a day of sunshine, golf and goodwill supporting CCA, a local charity that assists families with children diagnosed with cancer and other serious illnesses.

Golfers attended an awards banquet following the tournament where John Powers, CCA ambassador board member and Chemo Pal Program mentor, talked about the mission of the CCA. The Traffie family joined the tournament banquet with their son, Keaton, this year’s Kadel’s Golf Classic CCA Hero, along with their other four children Makenna, Blake, Parker and Brooklyn. Sarah Traffie, Keaton’s mother, told Keaton’s story. It turned out Keaton was not the only hero in the room that day as two of his siblings have donated bone marrow to save Keaton’s life. This is a special family who has faced difficult challenges, and Kadel’s was honored to have an opportunity to make a difference in their lives and the lives of other local families like the Traffies through CCA.

CCA’s programs, such as the MyMusicRx program and the Chemo Pal Mentor Program, help add to the quality of life for kids like Keaton dealing with cancer. Much like most six-year-old boys, Keaton is active and loves playing sports, and CCA helps by focusing on the positive. His family is grateful for the services CCA provides their community.
