Service King and Allstate Donate F-150 to Phoenix Family Promise

Refurbished 2004 Ford F-150 goes to Family Promise of Greater Phoenix as part of Service King and Allstate's continued commitment to the NABC Recycled Rides Program.

BodyShop BusinessService King Collision Repair Centers announced it partnered with Allstate Insurance on Aug. 27th to donate a refurbished 2004 F-150 to Family Promise of Greater Phoenix as part of the two organizations’ continued commitment to the NABC Recycled Rides Program.

The presentation took place at Service King’s Mesa, Ariz., location as representatives from Service King and Allstate joined Family Promise along with several of its families for the official delivery of the vehicle. Family Promise, which provides emergency shelter and services for homeless families in the Phoenix area, has expressed the need for a truck since opening its doors in 2000 and, on Aug. 27th, that dream became a reality.

“As an emergency shelter for homeless families in the Phoenix area, the donation of this truck is a game-changer for our families,” said Ted Taylor, Family Promise executive director. “It will be used to pick up donations of furniture, clothing and kitchen supplies for our families who lose virtually everything when they become homeless. In addition, our ability to shuttle supplies for our programs and move our families to their new housing will be transformative for many years to come. We are so thankful for this very generous gift.”

Through Recycled Rides, insurers, collision repair providers, paint suppliers, parts vendors and others collaborate to purchase, fully refurbish and donate vehicles to deserving individuals, families and organizations.

“Reliable transportation is something many of us take for granted,” said Chris Anderson, Service King regional vice president. “Our teammates are humbled and honored to partner with Allstate in an effort to provide a great local organization like Family Promise a vehicle that can assist in their great work for this community.”

The presentation was made possible through the joint teamwork of several different partners. Copart donated the vehicle tow from Salt Lake City to Phoenix, where it was restored by Service King technicians at its Mesa, Ariz., repair center. Meanwhile, LKQ and Autonation Ford partnered in supplying a remanufactured engine and donated parts to assist with vehicle repairs. Finally, Service King technicians volunteered their time to ensure the vehicle was in pristine condition for Thursday’s presentation to Family Promise.

The Recycled Rides giveaway on Aug. 27th marked Service King’s fourth of the year as teammates from across the country have also contributed to similar donations in Phoenix, Decatur, Ga., and at the NACE | CARS Expo and Conference in Detroit last July.
