NABC’s Recycled Rides Building Steam

The National Auto Body Council (NABC) 2008 Recycled Rides project – an initiative that hopes to donate 100 vehicles to 100 families in need on the Monday before Thanksgiving – is moving forward thanks to the cooperation of vendors across the United States. NABC credited Recycled Rides Vendor Coordinator Bruce Cooley of DuPont, Vehicle Procurement Coordinator Bill Mayer of Insurance Auto Auctions and partner vendors for the program’s increased momentum throughout 2008.

Recycled Rides supporters include: 21st Century Insurance, 3M Automotive, AAA Insurance of Michigan, AIG Insurance, Akzo Nobel, Allstate, BASF, California Casualty,
CSAA Insurance, DuPont Performance Coatings, Esurance, Farmers Insurance, Fiberglass Evercoat, GEICO, GreenLeaf, Hertz Insurance, Auto Auctions, LKQ/Keystone, Met Life, Nationwide Insurance, Sherwin-Williams, State Farm and Travelers.

"The table is set and we’re well on our way," says Troy Holm of Collision Services, who serves as Recycled Rides’ repair shop coordinator. "Bill has secured over 90 vehicles to date, and now it’s my job to get the remaining shops committed. Those already on board are forward-thinking operators who seek involvement in their community and are looking for opportunities to create a sense of unity among their staff."

For information about NABC’s Recycled Rides or to sign up for the 2008 program, call NABC’s administrative office at (888) 667-7433 or e-mail [email protected]. Shops interested in participating can call Troy Holm directly at (800) 367-6575 ext. 112. Visit the project Web site at www.recycledrides.org.
