CARSTAR announced that two of CARSTAR’s long-time owners, Jeanne and Jeff Silver of CARSTAR Mundelein in Mundelein, Ill., took home the industry’s top honors during the 2015 SEMA Show in Las Vegas.

Jeanne was named to the collision industry’s Hall of Eagles, the first hall of fame inductee since 2012. She joins her husband, shop co-owner Jeff, in the hall, who was inducted in 1993.

Jeff won the I-CAR Chairman’s Award, which recognizes an individual or organization whose contributions to I-CAR have been significant or extraordinary. The Chairman’s Award recipient is selected by the Executive Committee of the I-CAR International Board of Directors.

Jeff’s career in the collision repair industry has spanned more than 45 years, including 11 years as executive vice president of I-CAR. During his tenure, I‑CAR quadrupled the number of people reached annually with its technical training in collision repair. Through his leadership and broad experience in the automotive industry, I‑CAR became recognized as the leading source of collision repair technical information, and was the driving force in establishing the I-CAR Tech Center, which today still develops all I-CAR training. He also encouraged the formation of the I‑CAR Education Foundation in 1991 when he anticipated today’s technician shortage.

In 1996, he joined Jeanne at CARSTAR Mundelein. Since that time, he has been engaged in the day-to-day operations of the business. CARSTAR Mundelein is highly regarded in the community, and most recently was awarded the Gold Star Award from the Village of Mundelein for Community Involvement and Support of Charitable Organizations.

“Jeanne and Jeff Silver have been leaders for the CARSTAR family for decades, and have made [a] tremendous impact on the collision repair industry,” said Dan Young, brand president for CARSTAR Auto Body Repair Experts. “We’re proud of their achievements – they embody our commitment to delivering the highest quality collision repair, providing excellent customer service and giving back to their community and the industry overall.”
