Volvo Adds PPG to Preferred Suppliers List

PPG Automotive Refinish has been named one of the Volvo Car Corporation’s preferred suppliers for its worldwide network of dealerships and independent collision centers. The designation includes PPG’s waterborne Envirobase High Performance and Nexa Autocolor Aquabase Plus. Volvo tests all materials to make certain they meet the company’s strict standards before they’re approved.

PPG’s quality assurance made the company a good partner for Volvo, Peter Larsson, deputy director of painted body engineering for Volvo, said.

“One of the major criteria for selecting preferred suppliers is quality assurance which will safeguard the Volvo repair quality in our network,” Larsson said. “PPG continues to demonstrate high quality and commitment for its paint products and processes. I am very pleased to say this collaboration will bring benefits to our international network.”

Ken Davis, PPG’s manager of OEM business development, said PPG will work with Volvo to provide “complete support” for PPG products to Volvo dealerships and collision shops.

“Volvo is well-known for its quality, and to be one of their approved suppliers is recognition of the quality of our products,” Davis added.

PPG’s waterborne products, Envirobase High Performance and Nexa Autocolor Aquabase Plus coatings are currently in use in North America and Europe.
