S/P2, a company that helps the automotive service and repair industry meet annual OSHA and EPA guidelines, has released two more courses for career technical students and industry professionals: “Bullying in the Work Environment” and “Substance Abuse Awareness and Management.”

“These courses are about issues affecting employees and workplaces everywhere,” said Kyle Holt, president of S/P2. “Bullying is not a dynamic only for schools or young people. Knowing how to handle workplace bullying is important for workers in all industries and roles. In the same way, substance abuse can affect everyone in the workplace. Employees and employers need to know how to handle these important issues.”

The 25-minute “Bullying in the Workplace” course is designed for all industries – for career technical students as well as professionals who are well into their careers. In the course, learners will be able to recognize bullying at work, know more about why workplace bullies engage in bullying behavior, and how to respond effectively.

“Substance Abuse Awareness and Management,” a 20-minute course, will inform learners about the types of substances that people commonly abuse, the effects of drug abuse, and strategies to use when those in the workplace abuse substances and put employees in jeopardy.

“These courses blend perfectly with our growing curriculum to help students and employees navigate the workplace,” said Holt. “S/P2 is all about workplace and environmental safety, but we also want to contribute to a well-rounded, healthy and knowledgeable employee.”

The courses will be provided at no charge to shops and schools that have a current S/P2 subscription. For more information, visit www.sp2.org.
