National Auto Body Council (NABC) member body shops teamed up with the Progressive Group of Insurance Companies to help more than 100 military families across the country celebrate Veterans Day by presenting each with keys to newly refurbished cars.

Progressive’s Keys to Progress is an extension of the NABC’s Recycled Rides in which companies representing all facets of the collision industry team up to provide vehicles for individuals struggling with lack of reliable transportation. The veterans were presented with their vehicles during special ceremonies at 63 locations, including Progressive’s Service Centers.

“We commend Progressive for spearheading this tremendous effort each year to thank and honor our veterans,” said Domenic Brusco, NABC chair. “Keys to Progress represents the professionalism and integrity of our collision industry, and how NABC members can work together to help positively change lives in local communities across the country.”

In addition to the body shops which repaired the vehicles donated by Progressive, other NABC members that contributed to this year’s 4th Annual Keys to Progress include:

  • Copart and Insurance Auto Auctions, which also provided some of the vehicles
  • Enterprise Rent-a-Car, which sponsored the first six months of insurance, written by Progressive, for each donated vehicle
  • The Original 1-800 Charity Cars which donated resources to facilitate titling and registration of vehicles for recipients
  • Multiple paint and parts suppliers, which contributed materials for the vehicles

Recipients were selected by local nonprofit support organizations in each region. Veracity Research Co. Investigations (VRC), a veteran-owned and operated organization, helped support the recipient selection process.
