AASP/NJ Hosts Sixth Annual Race Night

AASP/NJ Hosts Sixth Annual Race Night

The event was held June 13 at Pole Position Raceway in Jersey City, and $1,000 from the event’s proceeds will go to the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center to help with their fight against prostate cancer.

The Alliance of Automotive Service Providers of New Jersey (AASP/NJ) hosted their Sixth Annual Race Night on June 13 at Pole Position Raceway in Jersey City. For the second consecutive year, AASP/NJ will donate $1,000 from the event’s proceeds to the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center to help with their fight against prostate cancer.

The night brought together members and supporters from all across the industry for an exciting night of fun and light-hearted competition. Over 35 racers indulged in a three-race series driving electric go-karts that reach speeds of up to 45 mph. While everyone displayed mastery behind the wheel, three drivers in particular demonstrated outstanding skill and took the top three spots. Congratulations to back-to-back champion Brian Natale (Pace Collision), second-place finisher Michael Circello (Pace Collision) and third-place finisher Barry Evans (Cosmo’s Auto Parts) for their success on the track.

“We always enjoy having this event,” said AASP/NJ President Jeff McDowell. “It sort of kicks off the summer for us with a nice gathering of shops who can get together and enjoy some food, drink and racing. I like to call Race Night a ‘camaraderie night’ because it’s one of the few times we repairers have a chance to just relax and have some fun without the distractions of the business. I think everyone enjoys it. The fact that we can use some funds to help in the fight against prostate cancer makes it even more meaningful.”

AASP/NJ would like to thank everyone who participated in this year’s Race Night, and the association looks forward to seeing old and new faces alike at future AASP/NJ events.

To participate in next year’s Race Night, contact the AASP/NJ Administrative Office at (973) 667-6922. To learn more about AASP/NJ, visit aaspnj.org.
