Collision Industry Conference Publishes New Online Wiki Glossary

With the support of the Collision Industry Electronic Commerce Association (CIECA), the CIC Definitions Committee developed the glossary for the entire collision repair industry to use and contribute to.

The Collision Industry Conference (CIC) announced the release of the CIC Definition Committee’s online Wiki Glossary.

The Wiki Glossary includes segments for:

  • General automotive terms
  • General automotive parts definition
  • Frame/unibody /structural terms
  • Automotive scan diagnostics, calibration and programming
  • Insurance terms
  • Computer terms
  • Time terms

With the support of the Collision Industry Electronic Commerce Association (CIECA), the CIC Definitions Committee developed the glossary for the entire collision repair industry to use and contribute to.

“The intent of the Wiki Glossary is to be an ongoing work product for CIC, and to be used by the entire industry,” said Chris Evans, State Farm Insurance and co-chair of the Definitions Committee. “The committee will review change or addition submissions to the online form, which can come from any person. This will add value to the glossary by keeping it current with ever-changing terminology our industry uses.”

The Definitions Committee will talk about the new Wiki Glossary during the next CIC meeting, which will take place April 11-12 in Westminster, Colo.
