The Steck Panel Shaper Kit (20046) is an air-hammer-driven set that consists of three self-lubricating, nylon-reinforced heads that allow technicians to reach deep areas and bring deformed parts back to their original shape.
Each kit contains three unique nylon head shapes with arbors. This allows each tool to be attached to an air hammer to fix body lines, concave areas and at surfaces. Unlike traditional hammer repair, the Panel Shaper saves technician arm fatigue and hours of repair time.
- Chisel head – works with door, body lines, corner shaping and fender edges
- Rounded head – straightens out wheel house and quarter panels
- Flat head – straightens out floors, trunk floors and provides stress relief in the repair process.
Using the shapers with an air hammer gives needed vibration along the damaged frame areas, providing stress relief and molecular realignment in the frame structure. The kit also allows technicians to form custom-shape patch panels and to fabricate panels. Heads can also be customized by grinding to any specific angle and shape required to perform the repair. In the typical repair processes, each head should last 10 work hours.
