On Friday, March 13, in the wake of President Trump’s declaration of a national state of emergency due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak, the Collision Industry Conference (CIC) announced it was cancelling the April industry meetings that were to be held April 8-9, 2020 in Jacksonville, Fla.
This cancellation includes the events hosted by the Society of Collision Repair Specialists (SCRS), such as the open board meeting, annual election, repairer roundtable and the awards and corporate member recognition luncheon.
Based on the information SCRS has today, they will be working to rebook these events in conjunction with the July industry meetings taking place in Philadelphia, Pa., prior to the CIC conference scheduled for July 22-23, 2020.
In accordance with the SCRS bylaws, all members will be notified of the new date of the annual election 30 days in advance of the meeting. This election will fill three open board seats, and the candidates will remain as previously announced to SCRS members:
Incumbents
- Amber Alley, Barsotti’s Body and Fender (Calif.)
New Nominees
- Tony Adams, Weaver’s Collision Center (Kan.)
- Josh McFarlin, AirPro Diagnostics (Fla.)
- John Mosley, Clinton Body Shop (Miss.)
- Drue Tomlinson, Don Thornton Certified Collision (Okla.)
The nominee’s bios can be viewed by clicking here.
The election is open to current designated voting representatives of SCRS member businesses. Members must be present to vote. To join as a member of SCRS to participate in the upcoming election, contact the association office at [email protected] or join online at www.scrs.com/join-scrs.
SCRS states that they look forward to reconvening as an industry when personal safety for attendees is no longer a concern.
