NABC Cancels Lone Star Pars for Cars Golf Fundraiser

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the NABC is cancelling its Lone Star Pars for Cars Golf Fundraiser and the NABC board meeting May 27-28.

As the automotive repair industry continues to face challenges due to the coronavirus global pandemic, many National Auto Body Council members are sheltering at home. In light of this, NABC is cancelling the NABC Lone Star Pars for Cars Golf Fundraiser at Texas Star Golf Course on May 27 and the in-person NABC board meeting on May 28.

NABC will host a virtual closed board meeting in May as an alternative.

Through the Recycled Rides program, NABC has four vehicles from the original Dallas event date on April 2 that are ready for presentation. Thanks goes out to the vehicle donors – GEICO, Farmers Insurance, Allstate and State Farm – and vehicle repair partners Service King, Gerber Collision and two Berkshire Hathaway Automotive locations, Reliable Chevrolet and Westway Ford. NABC is working to determine dates for presenting these vehicles to deserving individuals.

During these times, the NABC is still working hard for its members, looking at how it can continue its focus on “Changing and Saving Lives Every Day.” The team is working to reschedule many NABC Recycled Rides presentations, NABC F.R.E.E. programs and NABC DDI education events with the Collision Repair Education Foundation for later this year. It is also planning with NABC members for many more events as the country emerges from this challenge.

“We understand that many companies and individuals in the collision repair industry are facing hardships,” said Bill Garoutte, president and CEO of the NABC. “Some are on the front lines continuing to repair customers’ vehicles, others are working from home, while many have been furloughed or laid off. Our thoughts go out to everyone impacted by the coronavirus challenge, and we hope that we will soon see a positive path to a return to our new normal life. We apologize that unforeseen circumstances have pushed us to cancel this event, and thank you for your understanding. We look forward to seeing everyone in St. Louis in September.”
