I-CAR has announced the launch of I-CAR Repairers Realm, a new hands-on web series hosted “by technicians for technicians.”

Set to officially “go live” at noon (CST) on July 7, 2021, I-CAR subject matter experts will kick off each episode at the Repairers Realm news desk, then move the unscripted, informal conversation into the Tech Center’s shop area for detailed, how-to demonstrations, explained Jeff Peevy, vice president, Technical Products, Programs & Services for I-CAR. The segments, which vary in length from 30 minutes to an hour, will conclude with live-streamed technician questions and answers.

“Repairers Realm is the culmination of my team’s passion to `talk shop’ with techs in a hands-on, unscripted way that helps make sense of the information overload on all topics related to collision repair,” said Peevy.

Peevy, together with Bud Center, I-CAR director, Technical Products and Curriculum, and Dirk Fuchs, I-CAR director, Technical Programs and Services, bring a collective 90-plus years of technical industry experience to the table, each serving a portion of their careers in the field.

“There is just so much information coming at technicians on a daily basis, and we want to help bring some clarity and confidence to technicians’ repair work in a very real-time, hands-on way,” said Peevy. “We see this as an opportunity for providing real-time conversations with technicians on a regular basis that’s an extension of I-CAR’s Repairability Technical Support (RTS) portal.”

The RTS portal fields thousands of monthly technical inquiries from technicians, and shares both the inquiries and responses on the portal to help advance knowledge sharing within the inter-industry.

Repairers Realm web topics, dates and times will be offered at least monthly, with flexibility for more impromptu episodes, Peevy said.

“The beauty of Repairers Realm is the ability to stream our discussions and demonstrations in a fluid way, as news and updates dictate. We want to translate some of the breaking news and trends in ways that makes sense for the folks on the shop floor.”
