Glaser’s Collision Centers Donate Recycled Ride to Single Mom

Glaser’s Collision Centers and GEICO teamed up through NABC Recycled Rides program to help make life better for a single mother and her son.

Glaser’s Collision Centers and GEICO teamed up through the National Auto Body Council’s (NABC) Recycled Rides program to help make life better for a single mother and her son.

Aaron Glaser, COO of Glaser’s Collision Centers, with Recycled Ride recipient Arturia Godrey and son DJ.

Working with the Louisville non-profit Critically Loved, a deserving single mother was identified to receive a refurbished vehicle. Arturia Godfrey is a single mother raising her 10-year-old son who has autism. Providing her with reliable transportation is important not only so she can get to work but also to ensure her son attends physical therapy. Also, it will help Godfrey visit her family in Lexington, Ky.

Godfrey, along with her son DJ, were presented a 2018 Nissan Altima with the hopes of navigating life a little easier. The vehicle was donated by GEICO and refurbished by Glaser’s Collision Centers. Additional services were provided by Kaiser Tires, including new tires and a year of oil changes, Enterprise Rent-a-Car and Gipe Auto Color. Many other individuals made donations to help with car expenses and gifts for Christmas for both Godfrey and her son.

“I’m overwhelmed that I was selected to receive the car,” said Godfrey. “Having a reliable car considerably reduces my stress so I can focus on DJ and his needs.”

Added Glaser’s Collision Centers COO Aaron Glaser, “We are committed to giving our time, talent and treasure to charities and individuals who need support. Partnering with other businesses to provide someone with a dependable vehicle makes us very happy. Many thanks to everyone who contributed to making this possible for Arturia and DJ.”

Recycled Rides is a program in which businesses representing all facets of the collision repair industry team up to repair and donate vehicles to individuals and families in need of reliable transportation. Since the inception of the program in 2007, NABC members have donated more than 2,750 vehicles valued at more than $38 million. Additional partners in the Recycled Rides presentation included 1.800 Charity Cars.
